The San Benedetto Market was inaugurated on June 1, 1957, and with its 8,000 square meters of exhibition space on two levels, it is one of the largest markets in Italy. The ground floor is entirely dedicated to fish sales, while the upper floor houses the fruit and vegetable, meat, and cheese and deli sections. Renovation work is currently underway and has been temporarily relocated to a specially created facility in the same neighborhood.
